Morpeth Partnership training day at Chantry

24th October 2014J Edwards

learn_resizeOn Friday the 24th of October, Chantry hosted a partnership training day about the changing landscape of ‘Life Without Levels’.

The Learning Trust Curriculum and Assessment working parties presented their work on assessment and showcased assessment systems that have been trialled across Chantry and Newminster Middle Schools.

The Assessment and Data group demonstrated how one of the systems that has been trialled would be able to be recorded, tracked and reported to parents through our management information system (SIMS). Many thanks to all of the feeder First Schools that attended, we were really pleased that so many colleagues could join us.

Please see the links below for some of the presentations from the day:

Further visits are planned in the spring and summer next year.

Student Voice need your help

8th October 2014Mrs K Shutler

At Chantry Middle School, one of the Student Voice’s objectives is to become involved with our community and strive to help those less fortunate than ourselves.  Pupils regularly contribute towards charities through fund-raising activities but we would like to ask for your help through a donation of a different kind.

Food bankAt the time of Harvest, the Chantry Student Voice would like to help The Wansbeck Food project – a new charity based in the Wansbeck and Morpeth districts for which Chantry is one of the first schools to become involved with.

Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. The Food Bank will provide a minimum of three days emergency food and support to such people in our region.
