This Mini Cooper S was found  wedged on a narrow set of stairs in the Castle Walk area of Carlisle Park on Monday night.

Police were called to the area at around 11.30pm after they were told that a Mini Cooper was wedged on the stairs with the driver stuck inside.

The driver, who was uninjured, was removed from the vehicle safely and arrested. The Mini was left blocking the steps for 24 hours before being lifted out of the following night.

A 31 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of car theft. Now the police have said he has been “released under investigation”.
