Year 6 students have just taken part in the annual field trip to St Mary’s Lighthouse as part of their current Science work on habitats, feeding relationships and adaptation.
During their visits the students learnt about the local geology, undertook a rock pool study and climbed the 137 steps to the top of the lighthouse tower. The children particularly enjoyed learning about how the various rock pool creatures are adapted to live in such a challenging environment.
A big thank you to the parents and carers who gave up their valuable time to come and help with the visits.
Thanks also to St Mary’s Lighthouse wardens Adam, Sam and Pip for their knowledge, expertise and making us feel so welcome.
