We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been awarded Silver Level of Sainsbury’s School Games.
A Silver level mark is a great achievement and shows our school’s outstanding commitment to school sport.
The Sainsbury’s School Games is a unique opportunity to motivate and inspire millions of young people across the country to take part in more competitive school sport.
The Games are made up of three levels of activity: competition in schools, between schools, and at area/county level.
The Games are designed to build on the magic of 2012 to enable every school and child to participate in competitive sport, including meaningful opportunities for disabled.
The School Games Mark was launched in June 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community via club links. All registered schools are able to apply for the Mark.
Schools assess themselves across Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. Set criteria has to be met at all levels, applications are vetted and a number externally verified by school games
A big thank has to go to all the staff who give up so much of their own time to run the numerous lunch time and after school sports clubs, sports teams, leagues, tournaments and competitions, and also to the pupils for their regular commitment, participation and enthusiasm for school sport.
