Welcome to our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) pages. At Chantry Middle School, we are committed to ensuring every child is valued equally and supported to reach their full potential. SEND students are an integral part of our school community, and their individual needs are met through varied, flexible, and inclusive provision.

Our SENDCo, Laura Alexander, alongside dedicated pastoral mentors and trust leads, coordinates the support available. We encourage parents to first speak with their child’s teacher about any concerns; the SENDCo then works closely with staff, parents, and external specialists to tailor appropriate support.

We provide for a wide range of needs, including ADHD, Autism, Speech and Language difficulties, sensory impairments, and emotional health issues. Support is delivered mostly in mainstream classrooms with adaptive teaching, differentiated resources, and where needed, additional intervention groups or personalised curricula.

Student progress is carefully monitored through regular assessments, with termly reviews involving parents to update pupil profiles and support plans and to refine teaching strategies. Our school prioritises quality-first teaching, equal access, and a caring environment to help all SEND students thrive academically and socially.
