Hello – this is the first of my Head of School blogs which will be published on the website on a regular basis.
I do hope that you have taken the time over the weekend to read the January newsletter which celebrates the wonderful achievements at Chantry in the run up to the Christmas holiday. Once again I would like to thank the staff and students for all their fantastic work.
Last week went really quickly as we prepare for the hard work and challenges of the Spring Term and the theme of Miss Edward’s assemblies was reflection and looking forward to 2015. I had the pleasure of attending the Student Voice meeting led by Mr Storey on Wednesday. We had a great discussion about what we would like to do with the outdoor space at Chantry and what charities we will be supporting in 2015, through non- school uniform days.
This week, we welcome back Miss White and Miss Convey in Year 5, mainly working with Mrs Buckton and 5B, until February half term. They are currently training to be teachers at Northumbria University on the PGCE Primary route and we hope that will continue to enjoy their time at Chantry. On Wednesday afternoon, I will be interviewing at Northumbria University for BA & PGCE students for the new 2015 academic year. I do hope that they think I am fair and approachable – it always brings back memories about interviews that I have had in the past!
Please remember that the Three Rivers Learning Trust offer training places on the School Direct route. If you want to be a primary teacher, a Secondary Mathematics, a Secondary Computer Science or a Secondary Physics teacher please visit our website to find out more information or contact Mrs Brown, School Direct Lead. The Three Rivers Learning Trust is an amazing place to train to teach – just ask Mr Twentyman, Mrs Thompson and Miss Crowe!
With best wishes for the coming week.
