A group of Chantry Year 8 students recently took part in a Discover Medicine workshop.

The hour-long session was delivered by second year medical students from Newcastle University Medical School. It involved learning how to safely put people into the recovery position, resuscitation and measuring heart rates and blood pressure.

Year 8 also had the opportunity to discuss university life and medicine as a future career.

We are grateful to the medical students for coming along to run the workshop, particularly as they had just finished their exams.  The students were all very engaged and took some valuable lessons from the workshop.
