After only a few weeks of playing together, the Chantry and Newminster Samba Band are all in time creating upbeat rhythmic sounds on their drums and percussion instruments.

Their first performance as a group will be on the 25th November at the Sage Gateshead’s ‘Music from the Movies’ event that has been a sell-out, alongside the choirs, steel pan groups and KEVI Ceilidh and Jazz band.

There will also be a performance in April for all the new Ensemble groups to perform in a musical evening.
