We thought last year’s magnificent total was exceptional… but we have exceeded it! At break times, the library was so full it wasn’t possible to take pictures! Our children’s enthusiasm and good humour – despite the crush – have been incomparable. We are on our way to breaking through the £3,000 barrier, which we never dreamed was possible. What more can we say except, “THANKYOU!”
Thanks to your tremendous generosity and support, our week long annual Book Fair has, yet again, exceeded our wildest expectations with a grand total of £2,910.30! This has raised a magnificent £1,746.00 in commission, which will be spent on books and resources to stimulate literacy and a love of reading throughout school.

On Tuesday 17th January 2017 we were fortunate enough to have take part in a Google Expedition. Every child took part in a 30 minute workshop which took them into ‘The Solar System’, through the ‘Great Barrier Reef’ or amongst the ‘Seven New Wonders of the World’ to name a few.
Google Expeditions is an app which allows users
to take part in virtual trips to various places around the world using a headset. The images are static but allow the user to view 360 degrees by simply turning their head whilst holding the device.
Staff and pupils thoroughly enjoyed the experience – click ‘continue reading’ for some quotes from pupils and videos.

Three of our Year 8 students took part in Night At The Museum at the Great North Museum which was organised by Newcastle University Outreach.
Summer in 8H said: My favourite part of Night At The Museum was how we met lots of people from different parts of England and became friends with them. I also liked the Animal Zoo because you got to hold lots of different animals like cockroaches, snakes and African land snails
We are proud to announce the launch of our new website, which is the new home for information about The Three Rivers Learning Trust.
This includes how we govern, our future plans and aspirations, career opportunities, and statutory information such as financial reports. It also provides links to all of our schools and to The Three Rivers Teaching School Alliance. We hope you find the website informative and interesting and we welcome feedback about it.
A group of Year 8 students recently took part in a Discover Medicine workshop.
The hour-long session was delivered by second year medical students from Newcastle University Medical School.
It involved learning about the recovery position, resuscitation and measuring heart rates and blood pressure.
The Year 8s also had the opportunity to discuss university life and medicine as a future career.
We are grateful to the medical students for coming along to run the workshop, particularly as they had just finished their exams.
