We are looking to recruit new directors onto The Three Rivers Learning Trust.
Our Breakfast Club runs each morning before school from 8.20am to 8.45am.
We serve toast, bagels, cocoa and fruit juice with all items costing 20p.
You do need to buy something to eat to come to breakfast club but we offer breakfast free of charge to students entitled to Pupil Premium funding.
This is a copy of the Hawkhirst presentation, information sheet and SV5 form given to parents attending the information evening on Wednesday 21 March.
Do you have a high ZPD for your age?
Are you an enthusiastic and mature reader?
Do you enjoy talking about what you are reading?
Are you interested in meeting authors and getting your books autographed?
If so, would you like to help select this year’s winner of The North East Book Award?
We have about 10 weeks to read and discuss all 5 shortlisted books before voting! Obviously, there’s more to say – and disagree about – as the weeks progress and more people have read more of the books! As we read, we post reviews and comments on the NEBA website, which is closely monitored by the shortlisted authors. Extracts are used for giant promotional posters that the authors like to take home as souvenirs. (You can see some outside Chantry library.)
When all participating schools have voted, we attend an evening prize giving at The Centre for Life. We talk to the authors, get our books signed and generally have a good time. The ceremony will be held in June.
Visit the NEBA website for more information – http://northeastbookaward.wordpress.com/

What a fantastic time 15 of our Year 7 pupils had at this year’s Girls in STEM event at St. James’ Park! We were greeted on our arrival by our host Michael who took us into the Bamburgh Suite which was filled with purple and green tables and the most wonderful balloons we had ever seen!
Firstly, we were given a talk by some really inspiring STEM ambassadors before we were taken to the Innovation Lounge. The girls had to complete 6 challenges from the different areas to be entered into a prize draw where 4 of our pupils won their own drone!
We then were challenged to build a wind turbine that would generate electricity. All of our pupils made successful wind turbines but one of our groups managed to generate 0.68 volts, which was the 3rd highest reading out of the 39 groups taking part in the workshop! Elise, Elspeth, Fiona and Ava were given an Amazon Echo Dot each for their reward!
After that we were treated to a Q&A panel of inspiring women in STEM careers before a design skills workshop. All of the girls who took part had a brilliant day and worked extremely well on all the tasks they were challenged at! Well done girls!
We are taking part in BBC School Report Day.
Visit our BBC School Report page to see what we’ve been up to today.
