School Closure/Re-opening

9th March 2021Mrs C Allison

School Re-opening

Thank you for your support and patience this morning in reaction to the school having to close due to a lack of water supply. Northumbria Water has successfully repaired the damaged pipe on Mitford Road and have restored the supply to school. Therefore, school will be open to all students as normal tomorrow – Wednesday 10th March.
We hope this did not cause too much inconvenience.

School Closure
.
Update 9.25am – Students will have work uploaded onto the Google classrooms to complete today. They will follow a bespoke timetable for today only. The first lesson will be available at 10.00 am.
Once we receive confirmation that school is safe to open, we will communicate this with you as soon as possible.
School closure
We have made the difficult decision to close the school to all students today. Northumbria water has contacted us to explain that there is no water supply to the school and whilst they are busy trying to fix it, we can not operate safely without a water supply. Please do not send your child to school or if they have already left for school, can you please collect them from the Rugby club. We will update you as soon as possible regarding reopening and bus provision.

Sign Health Charity Week – Sign2Sing

11th February 2021Mrs C Allison

This week is Sign Health’s charity week – the week where we would normally be performing a song using Makaton signing in a whole school assembly. As we can’t do that this year some of you were recorded before Christmas during your music lessons signing along to ‘fight song’ by Rachel Patten. In celebration of this week, I have put these recordings together to create one large school sign2sing video for you all to watch and enjoy – see if you can spot yourself in the video. Well done to all that took part in this you did an amazing job.

If you enjoyed this, we will also be taking part in Music Partnership North’s Performance for British Sign Language week, Week commencing 15th March. We will be practicing signing to the song ‘Electricity’ from the musical ‘Billy Elliott’. If you want to take part at home – please register via the link below by 15th February to submit a recording of your performance to MPN. The chosen performances will  be put together to create a larger performance from students across the North East and showcased on MPNs youtube channel. All entries must be submitted by 5th March 2021.

Have a go at signing along to this song during registration today and practice over half term as well.

Thank you and have a great half term
Mrs Wilson
