Do you have time to help musicians in our region?
This week is Sign Health’s charity week – the week where we would normally be performing a song using Makaton signing in a whole school assembly. As we can’t do that this year some of you were recorded before Christmas during your music lessons signing along to ‘fight song’ by Rachel Patten. In celebration of this week, I have put these recordings together to create one large school sign2sing video for you all to watch and enjoy – see if you can spot yourself in the video. Well done to all that took part in this you did an amazing job.
If you enjoyed this, we will also be taking part in Music Partnership North’s Performance for British Sign Language week, Week commencing 15th March. We will be practicing signing to the song ‘Electricity’ from the musical ‘Billy Elliott’. If you want to take part at home – please register via the link below by 15th February to submit a recording of your performance to MPN. The chosen performances will be put together to create a larger performance from students across the North East and showcased on MPNs youtube channel. All entries must be submitted by 5th March 2021.
Have a go at signing along to this song during registration today and practice over half term as well.
Thank you and have a great half term
