We thought last year’s magnificent total was exceptional… but we have exceeded it! At break times, the library was so full it wasn’t possible to take pictures! Our children’s enthusiasm and good humour – despite the crush – have been incomparable. We are on our way to breaking through the £3,000 barrier, which we never dreamed was possible. What more can we say except, “THANKYOU!”
Thanks to your tremendous generosity and support, our week long annual Book Fair has, yet again, exceeded our wildest expectations with a grand total of £2,910.30! This has raised a magnificent £1,746.00 in commission, which will be spent on books and resources to stimulate literacy and a love of reading throughout school.
Click ‘continue reading’ for a gallery of the fair and special thank yous.
It was a real pleasure to meet those of you who were able to visit the Fair after school! We do hope that you enjoyed the opportunity of discussing the titles on sale and making your selection in a relaxed atmosphere.
The posters that were on display, fabric book bags, cubic rubbers and bookmarks will be on sale every break time until supplies run out!
A special thank you must go to the following Fair Makers who ensured that everything ran to plan: Mrs Chapple for coming out of retirement to help every day, Mrs Shepherd and the TA team, who gave up every break to do ’traffic duty’, Robbie Scott (Y8) and Amy Harrison Kidd (Y7) for unstinting help setting up and closing down the Fair, Cornelia Marshall and Frankie Lane (Y8) for assisting with sales, Mr and Mrs Whigam for taking care of the heavy stuff! This wouldn’t have been possible without you!
