Following on from his lead role in ‘We Will Rock You’ earlier this year, Year 8’s Lucas Jones spent his summer starring as John Darling in Whitley Bay Play House’s rendition of ‘Peter Pan’.  Lucas attended auditions for the show back in May along with over 130 other children and successfully won the role.

Although the story of Peter Pan is a much loved classic, the show featured original songs and stunning dance routines.

Lucas worked tirelessly every Sunday to perfect his part and the show was a roaring success.  He says, “Peter Pan was a memorable experience which I thoroughly enjoyed.  I loved the atmosphere and the excitement of being on stage.  It is something which will be hard to top but it is definitely something I am keen to repeat.”

“It was an absolute pleasure to watch the show and see how much Lucas enjoyed being part of this professional production.  He’s certainly hoping to work with the theatre company again in the future.” Marie Jones, Lucas’ mum.
