From Saturday to Saturday, March 4th to 11th, thirty-five Chantry Middle School students and five members of teaching staff went on an exciting snow-filled, action-packed adventure in the French mountains.
The resort was the beautiful Les Menuires, only three hours from the French/Swiss border and the scenery was amazing! Les Menuires produces lots of photo opportunities all year round to cherish and love forever.
We interviewed Mr Hutchinson, the teacher who led this trip. Click ‘continue reading’ for the interview.
How long did it take to organise?
I started organising the trip in March 2016 but that was only booking the hotel. All the letters and other things were to follow and they took us right up to the week before we departed.
How many times have you been with school?
This year was my 14th ski trip with Chantry and I have organised all of them!
What was your favourite part?
My favourite moments this year where skiing fast, feeling a sense of danger and watching the children sing in the karaoke!
What was the funniest part?
The funniest moments this year were when the beginner students fell over (but only when they didn’t hurt themselves), and also when I won the huge snowball fight that everyone got involved in.
I then asked Cornelia, one of the students, about the trip:
‘I thoroughly enjoyed this trip, it gave me a chance to try something that I had never done before. The hotel staff were lovely and and the meals were great and healthy. The bum boarding was my favourite evening activity but movie night came a close second. I would definitely go skiing again.’
