Children across all year groups enjoyed a brilliant day of football with Newcastle United Ladies and Drew Beardsley on Wednesday 8th July. Despite the rain, the children took part in a 7 aside tournament and fun penalty shoot out with the NUWFC players.

The year 5 & 6 tournament winners were the pink team and the year 7 & 8 winners were yellow team.

Individual awards were presented to Gus Singer and Dom Price for players of the tournament, Ailidh Dick and Luke Evenden for best attitude, Jess Coates for best effort and Phil Riley for best goal. Children were presented with signed shirts, signed footballs and medals.

In the afternoon, a selection of children took part in a training session with NUFC coach Drew Beardsley and he was very impressed with the talent on show and the fantastic attitude of our children here at Chantry.

All in all, a very successful day of sport. A huge thank you to both Newcastle United Ladies and Drew Beardsley for organising a great event!
