Allocation
The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium gives schools additional funding to support year 7 pupils who did not achieve the expected standard in reading or maths at the end of key stage 2 (pupils scoring a scaled score of 99 or below).
In 2019-2020 Chantry Middle School was allocated £14,885. The catch-up premium was discontinued from September 2020.
How we spent our allocation in 2019-2020
Our knowledge of our pupils and detailed analysis of the key stage 2 test outcomes was used to identify specific areas to focus interventions. This ensures greater personalisation, monitoring and emotional support for key individuals.
Funding was used to resource a qualified teacher to provide children with targeted weekly intervention. These interventions included: small group tuition with a focus on reading, writing or numeracy, and the delivery of Lexonik where appropriate (a reading and spelling support programme) .Pupils will also engage with the Accelerated Reader programme during literacy lessons.
Impact of the Year 7 Catch Up Funding
