Three of our Year 8 students took part in Night At The Museum at the Great North Museum which was organised by Newcastle University Outreach.
Summer in 8H said: My favourite part of Night At The Museum was how we met lots of people from different parts of England and became friends with them. I also liked the Animal Zoo because you got to hold lots of different animals like cockroaches, snakes and African land snails
I liked all of the staff because they were very helpful and generous. In our free time they would always give us drinks and snacks to fuel up our energy. They also intended in giving us fruit to be healthy
My last favourite thing I liked was the ‘Circus Skills’ because you got to have fun at the same time as learn lots of key skills. I also like how everybody there was in year 8 so you got the chance to see how other people that were our age can act so differently.
All together it was a good trip and it was a once in a life time experience AND I GOT REALLY TIRED.
Katie in 8H said: My favourite parts of The Night At The Museum was when we got to hold different animals, like: African land snails, snakes and cockroaches. This session was called ‘The Animal Zoo’. And ‘Circus Skills’ which was really fun because we got to try spinning plates.
I also really enjoyed having the chance to meet new people from all over England and make new friends. It was nice to mix with other people because you learn to make friends quickly. All the staff were really lovely and fun to work with, they were all very helpful and generous with their free time.
It was interesting to see how differently people of the same age act. There were some other students there that acted a lot older than me and some people that acted younger.
Overall, it was a really fun experience and I would love to do it again.
