A 120 strong choir from Newminster and Chantry sang to the rooftops at St James’s Church at their carol service on the 17th December.
They were joined by piano soloists, readers, the wind band playing an uplifting rendition of ‘Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer’ and the steel pan bands, whose beautiful sounds filled the air with ‘Santa Baby’ and ‘Jingle Bells’.
The church was packed out with 300+ family and friends who came to support the students.
The chocolate tiffin went down well at the end and a generous collection was given by the audience to the church’s chosen charity, The Mustard Tree.
Our thanks goes to St James’s Church, the Reverend Simon White who introduced the evening, to Dave Pope who accompanied on the organ and to all the students who took part so brilliantly.
