Twenty-one Chantry Year 7 students attended the annual Big Bang North East Fair at Northumbria University on 7th July.
The students, who successfully completed the Bronze CREST Award earlier in the year, presented their project work to professional scientists and engineers who were judging the regional heats of the prestigious National Science and Engineering Competition.
Later in the day the students took part in an interactive lecture with science educator Professor Brainstorm. They also had the opportunity to visit the open exhibition area, which included interactive chocolate welding, robot making and computer coding.
Speaking after the event, Ethan said: “We had a good day at the Big Bang Fair and enjoyed discussing our CREST Award work with the judges”.
